Haoma Selections is a small family run nursery in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We focus on low-maintenance perennial food crops and useful plants. We offer a seasonal selection of trees, shrubs, perennial and medicinal plants, seeds, cuttings, scion wood and handmade products.
Our small urban property is a site of research, breeding and experimentation. It is a repository of genetic information started over a decade ago in search of uncommon edible and medicinal plants.
We are excited to be in the early stages of planning and planting a fruit and nut orchard in Nova Scotia. Your business supports us in our journey toward healthy food, medicine and biodiversity, which we hope to be able to share with you on a larger scale in the future.
When we aren’t busy in the garden you will find us raising our two children, making handmade tableware or working at other slow crafts.
To stay in the loop with our projects you can find us on Instagram, Facebook and sign up for our email newsletter. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Natural Products
We are always looking for ways to make our daily lives healthier, more sustainable and environmentally friendly. To aide in this quest we create small batch products such as tea, soap, tinctures and salves for our family to use. We hope to offer a limited quantity of these items in the shop. These may sometimes only be available for local pick-up.
IPM
If you are growing food you will have pests to deal with. We use JADAM principles for our integrated pest management. It is natural and gentle on the environment. We create our own JADAM products and occasionally offer them for sale in our shop. If this interests you we recommend getting a copy of the book JADAM Organic Farming.
